Permission to Write

Real diversity in publishing begins with creating alternate routes to education and publishing opportunities. We do the work through our membership community, seasonal masterclasses, podcasts, and weekly co-working sessions.

Who We Are

Our goal is to cultivate the craft of independent Black writers and writers of color, give them space to create, a platform to amplify their voices, and a community to support their journey. We do this through our educational masterclasses, mentorship program, and membership community. We want to help readers find their new favorite writer and help writers grow and find new audiences for their work.

Mentorship Program

One of the main resources that Black writers and writers of color are missing is mentorship. Our program for working writers runs for three months in the fall and spring.
